Adventures in PLC: By Kyle 13 Clones: 52,000 creds and 45 traitor points 3 Mutant Powers Exposed: 37 traitor points Reconstruction to PLC: 157,000 creds Creating a Scenario that Produces the Only Song to Contain the Words "Troubleshooter" and "Pooper": Priceless Anyone who has played Paranoia knows that the half the fun in any mission is simply trying survive the journey to your destination. Take the Mark IV mission, for example. This was the first Paranoia game we played by email, and was a simple mission taken from the back of the game masters' materials. We were supposed to go find the Mark IV (an experimental vehicle) and make sure nothing happened to it. We figured this would be a dangerous assignment fraught with invasions of commies and sabotaging secret societies. Little did we know, however, that the most dangerous part of the mission was just picking up our equipment. We only had a handful of backstabbing, distrusting, traitorous characters: Christoph-R-RBN-1--from the Armed Forces, Christoph is part of the muscle for this mission. Tall, strong, handsome--he's a crack shot with a laser and lethal with a truncheon. Christoph is a registered mutant with the ability to heal himself. Fonz-R-ELI-1--from Tech services, Fonz is the team's grease monkey. He wields a laser, has big hair, and wears a black Kevlar jacket over his red reflec. Green-R-ROW-1--from Power services. Green recently went through training with a special operations team, and brings his expertise to the team. Along with his laser, Green also carries some specialized red anti-personnel weapon. King-R-THR-1 (an NPC)--from CPU, King has been designated team leader for this mission. King is thoroughly skilled in all modern management techniques, and his advice will be invaluable. Maury-R-TEE-1--Maury is from PLC. An ace with most guns, Maury is to be backup firepower for this trip. He has his laser and several concussion grenades. And apparently, PLC guys get the choicest clothes, because Maury's are very slick and a perfect fit. He wears a wide brimmed hat and dark glasses. Mick-R-THY-1--from HPD&MC, Mick used to work with a film crew making educational tapes and vidshows. He is perky and very friendly, and he wears a cross pin on his uniform. He has no obvious skills, and you're not sure why he's here. We thought it would be easy: pick up the equipment and go to the hanger. Unfortunately, there was a very high casualty rate before we ever got to the hanger. But don't take my word for it, read the transcript of our adventures in PLC for yourself: Trust me, once you read it, the Hulk graphic makes complete sense. |
