Good evening! My name is Mark Green and I'm a 2010 ENnies Judge candidate.
I won't bother to re-post all my answers to the questionnaire here; you can view that online at http://www.ennie-awards.com/nominations/j_green.asp
I will say that I'm strictly a hobby enthusiast and not an "industry guy." In other words, gaming isn't part of my profession. I don't write reviews for a living and I've never worked for a gaming company. I play strictly for fun and have been gaming for 25 years, the last 10 of which have been with my current group. Most of that time, I've been a GM, but I like to take a break as a player once in a while.
I've played alot of games along the way (including board games, miniatures, and card games). My mainstay will always be fantasy RPG, with my original "Red Box" Basic D&D set and 3.5 OGL competing for favorite. I also enjoy all things Star wars (WEG d6 and Saga). Mouseguard is a recent favorite as well.
Even though I have my favorites, I will be open and objective as a Judge. I love both the crunch and the flavor and like to see a nice balance between the two. Originality is always appreciated, whether it is original mechanics, concepts, or even just an interesting twist on a staple concept.
I hope you take the opportunity to vote in the coming week, and especially that you decide to vote for me as a Judge for the 2010 ENnies. For me, that would offer an awesome opportunity to give something back to the gaming community.

Hey all,
Like Mark, and the others that I'm sure will be posting here, I am one of the Judge candidates. I have been gaming since I was nine years old and it has been my biggest hobby for all of those 21 years. I have always had a strong love for supers games but that won't prevent me from paying equal attention to everything that comes my way, and judging each product fairly on its own merits. I have never been one to shy away from any genre or system and I don't intend to start now. I know that the people behind the games put a lot of effort into what they create and I can say that I will put just as much into reviewing each product without any bias. I have almost no professional gaming experience outside of being a playtester for a couple systems, so my industry experience pretty much ends with being a retailer eight years ago in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Back then I had purchased a gaming store and ran it for one reason and one reason only: I love gaming.
The above paragraph had only two sentences that didn't start with "I..." so enough about me! The links have been posted but just in case you are digging through that list of names looking to find out more about me, I'm Justin Peters (friends call me Jay) and my page is here.
Thanks in advance to everyone that votes! _________________ "Without struggle there is no progress." -- Frederick Douglass |

Wow...Ennie Judge hopefuls pimping here. I love it!
Welcome all and we hope you stick around. _________________ Portland, Oregon is essentially a Lord of the Flies scenario with white people in the Pacific Northwest instead of children in the South Pacific. In both cases, we have a situation whereby a homogeneous group of people is left alone in an area with no one to keep them in check. Eventually the euphoria and self-congratulation devolves into savagery and murder. |

I doubt that they're cool enough to stay. They're just shotgun pimping. _________________ <- And you think you feel bloated and gassy |

Which is not a bad thing. Some of my best friends are shotgun pimpers. _________________ When you're in your little room, and you're working on something good... but if it's really good, you're gonna need a bigger room. Pimpin' ain't easy.
Besides, I hadn't heard of this board until the ENnies voting started. Looking through your tabletop forum, there are some threads here I like. Burning Wheel for example. There's also some respect being paid to Heroscape, which is one of my favorite non-RPG games (I think I own a complete set except 2 of the GenCon figures, too bad Hasbro has managed to botch it all up). DMDarcs' Runelords thread is good too.

Once again, no worries. We're glad to have you here. If you stick around, that's awesome. If you just come by to plug stuff, that's cool too. We do drive-by pimps for our podcast on a few friendly boards that don't mind that sort of thing, so I'm happy to offer that same advantage to people committed enough to come around and offer their pimps in person. _________________ When you're in your little room, and you're working on something good... but if it's really good, you're gonna need a bigger room. Hello, I'm Megan.
OK, I admit it, I'm another of these pesky folks standing for ENnies Judge 2010. Please put that shotgun down, or at least point it in another direction.
I've been role-playing for over 30 years and got a lot of fun from it, time to put something back. But why me? Best way is to show you good people the way I look at games. I'm a teacher by trade, and when the bell goes I scamper home to work on my website RPG Resource, on which you'll find lots of reviews. If you like the way I think, please consider voting for me.
Irrespective, thank you for taking the time to participate in the ENnies process.
And yes, I only just came here. We got a list of forums to visit... and so I've added a few more to the places I'll start hanging out in. If you don't shoot at me too often, this will be one of them. _________________ Megan

Sounds like a challenge... Like Mark I didn't know about this board before yesterday, but anyone that uses "shotgun pimping" gets bookmarked. I'll be back. _________________ "Without struggle there is no progress." -- Frederick Douglass |

Tease.
I say the Animalballers should vote for any candidate that gets ten or more posts before friday. It'll weed out the ones that come here just once and post there prewritten blah blah blah introductions. My vote counts bitches! You want it, you gotta come and dance for it! |

Have any of you played Instant Game because that would get my vote!

Can any of the candidates unscrabble these three letters to form the name of a beloved Animalballer? [note: You must use the proper/only-acceptable-written form of this name to get the point]

That's cool. I like the vibe here; kinda snarky and laid back.
Angel - I think the answer is "dar." Yeah I looked it up in the member list, but at least I tried. If there had been an "n" in the there, I would have said "nard" regardless of whether or not it was the right answer. I just wanted to say "nard." Nard.
Nadia - I haven't played Instant Game, but I have read it. I put together a "Titan's of Pangea" style of outline together for a short-run campaign a while back (a year maybe?). I played something similar about 6 years ago under a different GM, but that was an epic level 3.x game.
Have fun; back to work.

Oh no you don't, go find the correct way of writting this person's name, you can't just go looking into our precious members list, that's cheating. |

You know there's only nine pellets in a standard buckshot shell, right? Is that why you want ten posts? Either way, moving from shotgun to machine gun posting is fine by me! _________________ "Without struggle there is no progress." -- Frederick Douglass

Do you see how many posts some of the no-life losers here have? Do you really think Brasky or Mike or Riggah or Nadia or SDT actually think about the content of their posts before they hit "submit"? Noooooo... post away, 'cause Skeld's on a roll aswell. |
